In the spring semester of 2011 (February-May) the University of Copenhagen offers Islam and Muslims in the Modern World as a one semester Master Class taught in English by international experts.

Islam and Muslims in the Modern World is a multi-disciplinary Master Class for students on M.A. or PhD level and was offered for the first time in the spring of 2009 with great success.

The Master Class is an educational programme within the framework of the International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU) and is offered to students of the University of Copenhagen, the Australian National University, the National University of Singapore, Peking University and students from other IARU partners.

The programme offers a unique opportunity for students to participate in a course on a high level and in an international atmosphere. Through seminars, lectures, guest-lectures, visits to relevant libraries and collections as well as field trips the students gain insights into the many dimensions of Islam and Muslims in the modern world and get a possibility through discussions and presentations to develop their analytical skills.
